As you can see, there's a wide range of events on offer. We'll have pass packages available which will give you access to all events, including the Mr Australasia Bear contest 2008 (which is always a sell-out).

Here's your chance to be a Contestant in The Mr. Australasia Bear Contest 2008!! For the twevelth year running, VicBears hosts the annual Mr. Australasia Bear Contest as part of SH2008. With eager contestants vying for the title and a chance to represent their host bear club and Australasia in the USA International Bear Contests, this event is always packed out. Held at VicBears Den Night hotel, The Laird Hotel, up to 15 bear contestants will present themselves in 3 separate formats for the select panel of judges to review and the audience to cheer on.

At the conclusion, 3 bears will be presented with etched trophies in the categories of Southern HiBearnation 2008 Bear, Grizzly and Cub. One of these finalists will then be judged Mr. Australasia Bear 2008.

All finalists and the eventual Mr. Australasia Bear 2008 will share in prizes totalling over $2000. Mr. Australasia Bear 2008 will be presented with a generous travel voucher to assist them with their airfare and accommodation in getting to the USA in 2008.

It’s a great way to display your bear pride! Signing up as a contestant in the Mr. Australasia Bear Contest is undoubtedly the best way to experience Southern HiBearnation. EVERYONE is encouraged to enter!
